After trips to NYC and enjoying their amazing brunches, a few of us jammers are making it out mission to find the best and nearest place to eat a true america breakfast in London. The type where you get 4 layers of pancakes with maple syrup, bacon, eggs done anyway you like, unlimited coffee etc. We might have to stick with the greasy cafe breakfast option and keep it for being a treat on our trips to the US, but thought we'd ask incase someone has any recommendations.
Thanks Sally

Can't help you out with US-style breakfasts but can recommend a blog called the London Review of Breakfasts:

Haven't been here and don't even know if it's still open but it seems to provide the right sort of thing. http://www.thetablecafe.com/weekendbrunch.html

If you decide to go there let us know what you think. The menu looks pretty good.

Perfect very good, highly recommend. Will try the Table Cafe out next Sunday....lazy sunday breakfasts are what the day was made for.

Thanks for inspiration. May get up and out ourselves next week.

Touching on buses, have you tried the interactive wizard on the find a route bit of the tfl website? http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TR ... ge=en

When you've put in your post code, the code or name of where you want to go, and specified means - bus, tube, cycle track etc. - plus desired departure/arrival times, the site takes you to a list of ways to get there. If you click on view, there's a pdf map option. Click on that and on the wizard and you get a little animated man setting out from the Jam Factory, walking to a station or stop, and travelling to wherever you want to go. (He probably gets on his bike too, now that I think of it - haven't tried that one.) For entertainment value it beats most of what's on telly Plus, it's amazing how many useful bus routes go from the Bricklayer's Arms.

Try Joe's Kitchen near Borough tube, only a 5 minute walk. I've never had the pancakes but they definitely serve them:

I really like the Table - its relaxed and friendly. I went to Joe's Kitchen once, admittedly not for brunch and ordered a burger. Unfortunately they seemed to serve the cheapest frozen inedible piece of minced cow they could find so I never went back. For true American weekend brunch a good choice is Christopher's American Bar & Grill in Covent Garden. Its a bit more formal but has been very good when I have been there.

Good to hear good things about the Table. Thanks, Mallyt.
